Hello readers today we started doing the summer learning journey everyone had to register and then we had to do some art it was easy and then we had to publish it do our blog but before we done all of that we had to do the learning story and this is what I made please leave a comment on my blog on what I could do better next time.
Hello readers last weeks we were doing EOTC days first we went to Adrenaline Forest and then the City Centre and after that we went to Jelly park and then we had to write three paragraphs I didn't like adrenaline forest because I am scared of heights but in the end I went to stage five. EOTC stands for education outside of the class room this is what i made please leave a comment on my blog on what I could do better next time.
Adrenaline Forest
We went to Adrenaline Forest first when we got there started listening to the rules when we were there I was a bit nervous because it was my first time I went to stage 5 and I was scared because when I looked down it was high so I just carried on climbing. I seen other people on the same level as me and they looked super happy but when I go down we ate and then we went to Spencer Park and some people went to the beach. Some people stayed at the playground and they played I wanted to stay at the playground because I was playing tag and it was fun there were eight people playing after we left and then we went back to school.
Christchurch City Centre
When we went to the City Centre and we played at Margaret Mahy we played there for and hour and then we started walking to the Tа̄ranga Library the people there were nice and they showed us around the place we went stage one and then we carried on going up I looked out the window and it was cool because I could some of the broken towers for when the earthquakes hit Christchurch. It was sad because I was looking at the old church and when the earthquakes hit people died but in the end I didn't really like it because it was boring after that we went to the Canterbury Museum and looked at the old things in the Museum I was with Miss Birtch because we got put into groups.
Jellie Park
When we were at Jellie Park it was fun because I got to spend more time with my friends I went on the diving board and then I done a back flip of the diving board and then after I just jumped of the side after the teachers got us fish and chips and then after that I got out of the water because it was getting cold and then they spoke on the speaker and told our school to get out. After we got out we got changed and then we left we got to school and then had a talk and then they let us leave school early and then I started walking with my friend.
Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on book reviews and finishing task we also had to do some fast finishers task each weeks after we finished task we are trying to work at a year 8/9 level. A couple of weeks before we done the book review we had to write something about why we shouldn't fight and some people lost some point because they didn't have paragraphs or anything else.
The author of my book is Rodman Philbrick and the book is called Freak the Mighty I chose this book because I had never read the book and then it got interesting after that I had done all of the task and they were easy. The book was good even tho it was kinda boring or was still happy when I got to the end my favourite part from the book was when he got trapped and then he couldn't get out but it was sad. The characters were Freak, Max if someone wanted to read this book I would let them because its interesting and it will help them get better.

Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on speech writing I was working with Ashton, Diago, James and then we added someone into our group his name was Gregory. Speaking was hard because I get nervous when I speak because if you were speaking to public you would be a bit scared because you might think you sound bad but they might think differently. What was something you enjoyed about this speech? I enjoyed writing about the speech because if someone you wants to smoke I could help other people try not to but in the end it is there decision.
When were you challenged, or felt the 'fixed mindset' of "I can do this"? I was challenged when I was speaking because I get scared because I think I sound bad but other people might not.
How did you overcome it? I overcame it by listening to everyone else before me so I wasn't nervous and then when It was my turn I was happy.
What did you learn about yourself as a public speaker or presenter? I thought I did good because I actually did the task and then I walked away proud.

Hello my name is Jesse and today we were doing gymnastics. Before we done gymnastics we had to do a blog, the blog was easy. My favourite part is the trampoline because I can do flips and then there is the mini trampoline. We had to do some task and they were Front flip, Back flip something I learned was not to be silly because someone hurt them self. My name is Jesse and I am from Hornby High School. When I first read your book it was very interesting. I just wanted to just carry on reading the book. It was the first time I had ever read one of your books. The book was called Freak The Mighty and there were a lot of characters. I have a question: why did you decide to start making books even though you could have had another job? What do you like about your job? The reason I wanted to carry on reading was because it was interesting and the character’s were good and all together the story was just interesting because they went to the tunnel and someone had kidnapped freak and he was getting hot because he was in a room and there was a fan.

The prize I really want is the Xbox because I have one at home but I have to share with my brother and then if I get the Xbox I won't have to share.

Once on a sandy island there were three men and then where walking on an island and they were starving they hadn't eaten in two days there name were Frank,Ben,Bill they were all starving they had one fish and it wasn't going to feed them all so if. After they were sitting down they gave up and then they saw some fish jumping out of the water and back into the water they ran so fast that they got to the water and they had food so they could eat and they had water so they were set.

There once was a whale that was swimming in the ocean. His name was Fred they were there because the mother went to go and look for food and while she was there and then she went missing the mother came back and she was shocked because there was nobody there. So she went to go and look for her kid. She was scared she felt like he had gotten eaten by a bigger fish but she went to look for food so he could help his mother. After 10 minutes they saw each other and the mother was happy so they went to look for food together and they found lots and they were happy because they were not going to be hungry. After they seen a human and there was a shark near the man so the fish went over and they surrounded him so he didn't get eaten after a while the shark went away after then they took the human to land and he seen his family and then they were all happy ever after so they went home and they were glad to be saved everyone was happy because nobody was hurt the end.

I learnt to always tuck when you do a flip because you might land on your head. Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on abstract art we made two but before we finished our abstract art we played some games the games we played were year 7/8 who could get more hoops in and then we done a 3v3 basketball game my team won. My favourite part on doing the abstract art was learning something new. The most challenging part was drawing all of the shapes and everything else the three word that inspire me were Happiness and Anger.
