Book Review

 Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on book reviews and finishing task we also had to do some fast finishers task each weeks after we finished task we are trying to work at a year 8/9 level. A couple of weeks before we done the book review we had to write something about why we shouldn't fight and some people lost some point because they didn't have paragraphs or anything else. 

The author of my book is Rodman Philbrick and the book is called Freak the Mighty I chose this book because I had never read the book and then it got interesting after that I had done all of the task and they were easy. The book was good even tho it was kinda boring or was still happy when I got to the end my favourite part from the book was when he got trapped and then he couldn't get out but it was sad. The characters were Freak, Max if someone wanted to read this book I would let them because its interesting and it will help them get better.

Bullies

 Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been doing drama and today were doing a script it was called bullying I was the adult and I was working with James, Alex, Gregory and Kayden it was easy after that we done the script someone in his family had dies and then after he told someone and then they went around school telling everyone please leave a comment on my blog on what I could do better next time.

Speech Writing

 Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on speech writing I was working with Ashton, Diago, James and then we added someone into our group his name was Gregory. Speaking was hard because I get nervous when I speak because if you were speaking to public you would be a bit scared because you might think you sound bad but they might think differently. What was something you enjoyed about this speech? I enjoyed writing about the speech because if someone you wants to smoke I could help other people try not to but in the end it is there decision. 

When were you challenged, or felt the 'fixed mindset' of "I can do this"? I was challenged when I was speaking because I get scared because I think I sound bad but other people might not.

How did you overcome it? I overcame it by listening to everyone else before me so I wasn't nervous and then when It was my turn I was happy.  

What did you learn about yourself as a public speaker or presenter? I thought I did good because I actually did the task and then I walked away proud.

In your own words, explain what is the purpose of persuasive writing.

The purpose of persuasive writing is to convince or persuade the reader.

Gymnastics

 Hello my name is Jesse and today we were doing gymnastics.  Before we done gymnastics we had to do a blog, the blog was easy. My favourite part is the trampoline because I can do flips and then there is the mini trampoline. We had to do some task and they were Front flip, Back flip something I learned was not to be silly because someone hurt them self.  Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been doing the novel Freak the Mighty and I had read the whole book so we had to work on the fast finishers task the task was to make a letter for the author and the author was Rodman Philbrick Freak the Mighty is the most popular children book. Dear Mr Rodman Philbrick,

My name is Jesse and I am from Hornby High School. When I first read your book it was very interesting. I just wanted to just carry on reading the book. It was the first time I had ever read one of your books. The book was called Freak The Mighty and there were a lot of characters. I have a question: why did you decide to start making books even though you could have had another job? What do you like about your job? The reason I wanted to carry on reading was because it was interesting and the character’s were good and all together the story was just interesting because they went to the tunnel and someone had kidnapped freak and he was getting hot because he was in a room and there was a fan.

Kids Can Fun Run

 Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been doing the kids can fun run and I signed up for it today we had to do some questions because we had a test and after we had some task to do some of the questions were how much money I want to make and how will I encourage people that donate to me these are the questions we had to do please leave a comment on my blog on what I could do better next time.

I want to earn over 200 hundred dollars so I can win a prize instead of winning nothing I would be happy with any prize.

I will encourage people to donate because I will ask my dad if he can put a post out on Facebook asking people if they could donate.

The prize I really want is the Xbox because I have one at home but I have to share with my brother and then if I get the Xbox I won't have to share.

The money we get from the kids can fun run is going to kids can because they help all of the school they supply us with food and shoes for people that can't afford to buy shoes or anything

Freak The Mighty

Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been doing Freak the Mighty today we needed to read upto chapter twenty and then we started on independent task. How would you describe the emotions he is feeling? He was feeling hot because the room was really hot and he was tied up with ropes and then he was talking to a man he is scared because he was kidnapped and he can't get out of the room because hes tied up.

Why is he feeling this way? He is feeling scared because he wants to wants to get out because he is getting frustrated because he wanted to get out of the room because it was way to hot and nobody was there to save him because the man was still there.

What is the conflict between Killer Kane and Loretta? Killer Kane is Max's father and Killer Kane tried to kill Loretta Lee. Who are these characters? The characters are the mother, father.

Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on Freak the Mighty and for this task we had to do twenty slang words but I wanted to work with Alex so after we had to do twenty five it was easy and hard at the same time because we both had different ideas it was NZ slang.  Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been doing 100/200 word challenge last week it was about a shark or a whale and this week it was about foot prints we had to talk about what it smelt like and what It looked like. Once on a sandy island there were three men and then where walking on an island and they were starving they hadn't eaten in two days there name were Frank,Ben,Bill they were all starving they had one fish and it wasn't going to feed them all so if. After they were sitting down they gave up and then they saw some fish jumping out of the water and back into the water they ran so fast that they got to the water and they had food so they could eat and they had water so they were set.

 Hello readers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on 100 word challenge and 200 word challenge this week the photo was a whale and this is what I made please leave a comment on my blog on what I could do better next time this is the photo we were writing about.

There once was a whale that was swimming in the ocean. His name was Fred they were there because the mother went to go and look for food and while she was there and then she went missing the mother came back and she was shocked because there was nobody there. So she went to go and look for her kid. She was scared she felt like he had gotten eaten by a bigger fish but she went to look for food so he could help his mother. After 10 minutes they saw each other and the mother was happy so they went to look for food together and they found lots and they were happy because they were not going to be hungry. After they seen a human and there was a shark near the man so the fish went over and they surrounded him so he didn't get eaten after a while the shark went away after then they took the human to land and he seen his family and then they were all happy ever after so they went home and they were glad to be saved everyone was happy because nobody was hurt the end.
