Home chemistry - Fizzy Drink

Aim: To see which is the best recipe using baking soda and citric acid for making fizzy drink bubbles.

In groups of 3 write on the hexagons and explain to the class why you chose these words.

Equipment:

  5.  
  6.  

Recipe:

  1. 1 t baking soda
  2. 1 t tartaric acid
  3. 1 cup water
Steps:

1. Combine baking soda and tartaric acid into a container.
2. Mix them well together.
3. Add 1 t of the mixture to 1 cup of water
4. Stir together well
5. Count the number of bubbles.

Change the recipe around to see which recipe produces the most bubbles.
